Acts 2:2-3 (NLT) Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.
“This supernatural phenomenon came suddenly (not as the climax to a physical, emotional, or psychic effort). It came from heaven (originated with God, not men or Satan). It came as a sound perceivable by the human faculty of hearing. It came perceivable by the human faculty of sight. It sat upon each individual as a personal experience. It came in a miraculous manifestation of languages not known by the speaker. It came to 120 people at the same time (an incontrovertibly multiple evidence of one Source impossible to attribute to natural origin or individual production).” The Church was born in a powerful, heavenly manifestation that resulted in the salvation of some 5000 people (Acts 4:4). The supernatural work of the Holy Spirit continues today as fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ open their hearts every day to His empowerment.
