Daniel 2:14 (NIV) When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.
Daniel and his friends provide a model for a faithful testimony under the threat of torture and death. “Although relatively few believers are required to face this ultimate test, those who do are consistently given the highest honor in the heavenly rolls” (see Heb. 11:33-34). When speaking to antagonists, “trust God to give you wise and tactful words—words that are entreating and not full of threats. Turn quickly to the Lord for help. Remember that God is still in the miracle working business.” But be willing to face any cost rather than deny your faith in God’s power to deliver you.
