Jonah 1:3 (NIV)

Clearly, Jonah was not in God’s will as he fled away from Nineveh, in spite of the fact that a ship was readily available. Favorable circumstances are not necessarily a sign of being in God’s will. (And UNfavorable circumstances are not necessarily a sign of being out of God’s will – see Mark 4:35-38). Divine guidance usually comes from several points of agreement (i.e., Word of God, Holy Spirit guidance, circumstances, etc.)
