Isaiah 49:16 (NLT) See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
Jerusalem’s walls were in ruins but God had not forgotten His people. When you study Nehemiah, you learn that those walls around Jerusalem had to be rebuilt to secure the people from enemy invasion. It was a long and costly process. In a similar way, we have a spiritual enemy who is determined to tear down our walls and ravage our lives with destruction. But God never forgets us. He has engraved our names on His hands. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land” (II Chronicles 7:14). Here’s how we reconnect to God: humble ourselves, pray, seek God, and turn away from wickedness. Then God will forgive us and restore to us what the enemy has taken away. Let’s pray for people to stop, pivot and turn toward God.
