Luke 9:28b (NIV) (Jesus) took Peter, John, and James with Him and went up onto a mountain to pray.
Occasionally, Jesus would take these three and give them a private tutoring session. Evidently, there was some kind of capacity within them, a responsiveness that Jesus perceived. Of course, they did not understand all the things they saw and heard—Christ’s transformation experience left them speechless. Maybe the bigger truth was that they were smart enough to NOT tell anyone at that time what they had seen. The supernatural is not meant for public consumption or public interpretation. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. The natural man does not receive the things of God for they are foolishness to him or her. Are you one of the Lord’s “inner circle” who can witness the power of God, a word from God, a directive from God, and hold it until the right time and place of delivery? Can God trust you to obey Him without you needing to know all the details and understand it all? Obedience is the organ of knowledge.
