Ephesians 4:26 (The Passion Translation)
But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day. Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, and opportunity to manipulate you!
Are you able to manage your emotional life so that you are not paralyzed by worry or swept away by anger? Are you able to manage your emotions rather than be managed by your emotions? Faith is meant to be rooted more deeply than in the shifting sands of your emotional life. It is to be rooted in your “knowing” and not your “feeling.” As we mature in Christ, we will be able to rise above emotional immaturity and live in Holy Spirit wisdom. We will be able to express our emotions in appropriate settings and in appropriate ways. Don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin.
