DAILY DEVOTIONS – TUESDAY OCTOBER 12, 2021

Deuteronomy 12:8, 28 (NIV)

You are not to do as we do here today, everyone as he sees fit (NIV).  Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes (KJV).  Your pattern of worship will change.  Today all of you are doing as you please (NLT)

These days, everybody has his or her own opinion regarding right and wrong.  People concoct their own brand of religion and draw their own plumb lines for success.  Worship is innate in mankind, and it finds expression in one form or another, even if it is the almighty dollar.  But  “the criterion for determining what is right or wrong is established by God and not by man.”  Jesus described the True North for worship: “God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).  What do you call right or wrong?  How does it compare to what God says about it?  Who gets to establish the criteria in your life?
