II Peter 1:4 (KJV) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Every day, the serpent wraps itself around some kind of tree in our pathway and tempts us by trying to captivate our attention and sell us on some form of evil indulgence. Everyday heaven watches in as we make a fresh choice to follow Jesus, remember His promises, and refuse to be lured into a poisonous lust that deadens our soul and weakens our life in Christ. It is always our choice. And it is an everyday choice. Follow Jesus with your back toward Egypt and your face toward the Promised Land. Be a “partaker of the divine nature” every day.
