Joshua 1:5 (NIV) “No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
God assured Joshua of His unfailing faithfulness. Imagine the weight of responsibility that had dropped on Joshua’s shoulders and the importance of these words to him. Leading people into a better place can be a difficult job. People are imperfect and ingrained with their own ideas about how things should be done. Joshua would lead Israel into their God-given inheritance—getting it and keeping it. Today, pray for our leaders—all who have authority over us. Pray for them to find God’s wisdom and understanding in all they do (Eph. 1:18) and to be surrounded by Godly counselors (Proverbs 11:14 – Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety).
