Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
Have you learned to listen deeply, to recognize when someone is carrying pain that you have no experience with nor understanding of? Jesus has power to heal deep trauma and we get to be carriers of that healing power. It is in the listening that holy moments are discerned. We all have biases; and the best way to get loosed from them is to position ourselves as servants, as listeners, and to ask the Holy Spirit to help us see what He sees and understand as He understands. Invite Him to put His hand over your mouth and open your ears to hear. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Eph 4:3 NIV).
