Exodus 6:8 – “I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.” Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage.
If only the Children of Israel could have known what we know today. Great miracles of provision were ahead of them. But they were so discouraged due to their extreme bondage that they could not even imagine the good things God had in store for them. Their destination would be the fulfillment of God’s promise to three generations; but getting there would require persistence. The vision of the Promised Land had to be birthed in their hearts for them to be able to access the strength to pursue it. Our vision must be more compelling than our fears. Do you focus on your lack (of education, funding, connections, etc.) or do you see what is possible with God?
