Ephesians 6:13-14 (NIV) Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
The “stand” in one verse refers to the end of the conflict, whereas in the other verse it refers to the beginning. “There must be a firm stand in the beginning if there is to be one at the end. The necessary posture toward the adversary involves: sobriety, vigilance, and steadfast resistance (I Peter 5:8-9). The believer must exercise watchful prudence (II Cor. 2:10-11) and deliberate avoidance of sinful behavior (Eph. 4:17).” Are you ready to stand?
