Exodus 17:6b (NIV) So Moses struck the rock as he was told, and water gushed out as the elders look on.
Moses called that place Massah (which means “test”) because the people tested the Lord by saying, “Is the Lord here with us or not?” (vs 17:7). What comes out of your mouth in tough times? Do you question whether God is with you or not? When our emotions are devoid of feeling and our heads cannot find solutions, remember we have a supernatural God who is not limited in the ways He can provide for our needs. Faith must not be rooted in our emotions for they are fickle and represent the most shallow part of us. Faith must be rooted in the spirit. The Children of Israel had many lessons to learn before they could enter their Promised Land. Our walk through this life is similar. When you face your challenges, remember that God is your ever-present provider.
