DEVOTIONS – WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2019

Philippians 2:3 – (NIV)  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,  but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
(MSG)  Don’t push your way to the front;  don’t sweet-talk your way to the top.  Put yourself aside,  and help others get ahead.

“Carrying this out in real life requires an inbred core devoid of pretention and arrogance.  It does not allow for posturing or a show of self-importance.  When those kinds of selfish traits are present,  problems and contentions naturally arise”  (Carolyn Tennant,  Keys to the Apostolic and Prophetic).  Relational differences exist in every social strata of life.  Our faith is built on Christ’s model and empowered by our daily relationship with the Holy Spirit.  Begin your day with a prayer of submission and end your day with a review that incorporates divine perspective.  Allow the Lord to point out the nuances of your conversations and behaviors and give you divine wisdom in better ways of managing life.  Abundant life results from our heeding His wisdom each day,  receiving His grace for our missteps,  and learning how to set aside self-rooted objectives for God-given mission.
