DAILY DEVOTIONS – MONDAY MARCH 22, 2021

Isaiah 14:16  (MSG)   People will share and muse: “Can this be the one who terrorized earth and its kingdoms, turned earth to a moonscape, wasted its cities, shut up his prisoners to a living death?”

It is important for us to remember that Satan is a real personality; and  “the imprint of Satan’s character is on the entire world system for he dominates and inspires world rulers in their lust for position and power.  He is the organizer of all the world’s confusion bringing distress and perplexity of nations with lawlessness, violence, and rebellion against the restraints imposed by the laws of God and the sovereignty of His government (Ps 2:1-6).”  He deceived Eve, afflicted Job, and tempted Jesus.  He arouses suspicion (II Cor. 4:4) and doubt, impugns the motives and character of God, and seeks to vent his hatred of God by appealing to humanity’s carnal cravings (lust of eyes, lust of flesh, and pride of life -I John 2:16).  Live aware of this sober reality; but balance it with this truth: greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4).  Do not be steeped in sensuality or ensnared by human desires (I Peter 4:2-7).  Live for the will of God.  Stay  “wide awake in prayer” (I Peter 4:7 – The Message).  Exercise your will to walk in obedience to the Lord through the Holy Spirit’s power (Rom. 8:2).
