DAILY DEVOTIONS – SATURDAY DECEMBER 25, 2021

Luke 2:17 (NIV)

When they (the shepherds) had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about the child.

“I will seek to believe rather than to reason.  I will seek, rather than explain.  I will seek to give thanks, rather than to penetrate the doctrine.  Who can understand?  Here is the Ancient of Days becoming a babe in Bethlehem.  Here is He who thunders in the heavens, crying in the cradle.  Here is the One who gives to all their meat in due season feeding at His mother’s breast.  Here is the One who made all flesh, now being made of flesh.  Here is Him who could summon the legions of angels, now wrapped in swaddling clothes.  Here is the mighty God becoming a helpless Child.  Here is the second person of the Godhead confining himself to a human body.  I can scarcely get past His cradle in my wondering, to wonder at his cross!” (Dr. G. Campbell Morgan).
