Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
DON’T RESIST CHANGE. Only God stays the same yesterday, today, and forever. In a recent webinar, Dr. Henry Cloud told how sustained stress over a two-week period can cause people to lose as much as 30 IQ points—no wonder it is difficult to think and process life these days! We have experienced sustained stress for more than a year, so people are exhausted and agitated! Understand what is going on around you. In the middle of all this, God is enabling leaders to see what needs to change and guiding them in readying people for it. What do you need to let go of so that you can open your hands to grasp the “new thing”? If you hold onto the old, you might miss the new. Consider how your life has changed over the past 18 months. *But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland” (NLT).
