Obedience to God is not only expressed by consecrated activity, but also by ceasing from the efforts of self; and devotion is not only expressed by serving, but also by sitting in active contemplation and quiet worship. God gives us rest from works (Heb. 3:7-4:11), and rest in devotion (Luke 10:38-42; II Sam. 7:18), and rest in unrest (Psalms 37:1-7; Mark 4:35-41). Have you been through the “School of Rest”?
